Sports Medicine: Healing Injuries Faster with Homeopathic Medicines II

Sports Medicine: Healing Injuries Faster with Homeopathic Medicines II

Homeopathic medicines are not only useful in helping to heal injuries more rapidly, but they can also improve a person's overall health. This strengthening of the body reduces the chances of in jury, and, equally important, it improves overall functioning by speeding the healing process when athletes are ill.

Ronald Lawrence, M.D., Ph.D., Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCLA School of Medicine, and consultant to the U.S. Olympic Committee, notes: "Many athletes, like other people, experience respiratory infections, digestive problems, hormonal imbalances, and various other conditions. I have seen homeopathic medicines work exceptionally well in speeding the healing processes of these conditions, which allows athletes to work out more efficiently, return to activity more rapidly, and perform at higher levels of competence."

Ex-Yankee pitcher Jim Bouton had an experience with homeopathy that certainly got his attention. "I had a severe case of asthma," he says, "which made it extremely difficult to breathe. I usually need to be hospitalized. A friend gave me the name of a homeopath who gave me a medicine which worked incredibly rapidly. Within twenty-four hours, my breathing was completely cleared, and I was on the mound that next day ... as the winning pitcher."

I'm very active in sports myself, and it does seem like the alternative medicines help me recover a little easier, without other conditions presenting themselves. I've never had a serious injury, and hopefully I won't but for now the safer choice for me is definitely alternative medicine. I'm not so sure what I would take if I really had a bad injury, guess I'd have to consult my doctor.
